The first Thanksgiving was for the Pilgrims thanking the indians for showing them how to handle the land and cook. But today there is more of a biblical meaning than that. Back then people were even thankful to the lord.

Biblical meaning of Thanksgiving;
1 THESSALONIANS 5:16-18 16 Always be happy. 17 Never stop praying. 18 Give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.
PSALM 103:1-4
All that I am, praise the Lord.
Everything in me, praise his holy name.

My whole being, praise the Lord.
Do not forget all his kindnesses.

The Lord forgives me for all my sins.
He heals all my diseases.

He saves my life from the grave.
He loads me with love and mercy.
The true biblical meaning of thanksgiving; confession, praise, and offering. When we give thanks in the truest sense of the biblical word, we offer Our Heavenly Father our praises and acknowledge to Him that He is the Giver of all good gifts. It is so important children that you praise the lord and thank him for what he does for you, and give all your problems to him and be happy all the time. If you can, find songs that talk about thanking the lord and listen to them.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we pray thet the children that get read to or read the lesson understand how important it is to pray to you. If they do not understand we pray that you help them understand. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Prayer of Salvation to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
