Raynette K. Weiss Ministries run by Our Lord and on earth by Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Assistant Minister Jessie K. Weiss invite you to Sunday service on the book of Jeremiah chapters 21-26. Sunday October 14, 2023.
Opening Hymn: Lamar Campell and the Spirit of praise; Nothing is too hard; There is nothing to hard for my God to work out There is nothing to hard for him If you've got a problem that's too hard for you to solve And a burden that's too hard to bear The answer my friend is not in your plan But it's when you place it in the Master's hand Sometimes the road you travel Seems like you're coming to a dead end Because you're trying to walk it without Him With Jesus you're a winner because He steps in on time He'll turn your dead-end into a finish line He can, He will show up He can, He will show up Won't He work it out Watch Him work it out I'm let Him work it out He can He will... won't He work it out!
Sermon; King Zekiya sent people to Jerusalem asking help from Our Heavenly Father due to Jerusalem being taken over by people from Babylon. Some of the people were sent to help with counseling. Our Heavenly Father says rulers that do things to people that are not legal such as to build palaces for themselves will not make them kings. Leading the right way will get them that title. Our Heavenly Father says that King Jeholakim after he goes to heaven will not be honored, and he will be put somewhere. One of the promises to Israel that was made to the leaders was to have a lot of security and they will grow and get better. The LORD showed Jeremiah that there were two baskets of figs sitting in front of a temple built for the Lord, after Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken with him Jeconiah the son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and the princes of Judah with the craftsmen and smiths, from Jerusalem, and had brought them to Babylon. Jeremiah said that Babylon would end up ruling Judah because they decided not to listen to instructions from Jeremiah or Lehi. Jeremiah also talked about how Judah would lead Babylon for a long time, and then a different leader would handle it. Jeremiah talks against Judah and Jerusalem in the same way and Jehoiakim tells him something negative. Uriah tries to escape to Egypt but is caught doing it. Jehoiakim says something negative about his personal activities too. But Ahikam son of Shaphan protects Jeremiah so that no one can do anything to him. Closing Hymn; We thank you O God for a prophet
1. We thank thee, O God, for a prophet To guide us in these latter days. We thank thee for sending the gospel To lighten our minds with its rays. We thank thee for every blessing Bestowed by thy bounteous hand. We feel it a pleasure to serve thee And love to obey thy command.
2. When dark clouds of trouble hang o’er us And threaten our peace to destroy, There is hope smiling brightly before us, And we know that deliv’rance is nigh. We doubt not the Lord nor his goodness. We’ve proved him in days that are past. The wicked who fight against Zion Will surely be smitten at last.
3. We’ll sing of his goodness and mercy. We’ll praise him by day and by night, Rejoice in his glorious gospel, And bask in its life-giving light. Thus on to eternal perfection The honest and faithful will go, While they who reject this glad message Shall never such happiness know.
