Opening Hymn: All my hope in you is found by Joachim 1 All my hope on God is founded;he guideth,
only good and only true.
God unknown,
he alone
calls my heart to be his own.
2 Human pride and earthly glory,
sword and crown betray his trust;
what with care and toil he buildeth,
tower and temple, fall to dust.
But God's power,
hour by hour,
is my temple and my tower.3 God's great goodness aye endureth,
deep his wisdom, passing thought:
splendour, light, and life attend him,
beauty springeth out of naught.
Evermore
from his store
new-born worlds rise and adore.4 Daily doth th' Almighty giver
bounteous gifts on us bestow;
his desire our soul delighteth,
pleasure leads us where we go.
Love doth stand
at his hand;
joy doth wait on his command.5 Still from earth to God eternal
sacrifice of praise be done,
high above all praises praising
for the gift of Christ his Son.
Christ doth call
one and all:
ye who follow shall not fall.

Jesus was born in the town of Bethlehem in Judea during the time when Herod was king. After Jesus was born, some wise men from the east came to Jerusalem. 2 They asked, “Where is the baby who was born to be the king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east. We came to worship him.” They bowed down and worshiped the child. They opened the gifts they brought for him. They gave him treasures of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Christmas is a time to have a great time with friends and loved ones, but it is also a time to remember about the birth of Our lord and savior and to spend time with him as well. At midnight it is traditional to kiss or shake hands and wish other people “Happy New Year.” Many people make New Year's resolutions, or promises to themselves. They see New Year's Day as a chance to make a fresh start. Different cultures celebrate the new year in many ways. The year 2024 is a year that will be about new opportunities and a time to grow in faith and be closer to Our Heavenly Father. Purple is often associated with royalty and power, signifying the divine authority and connection between God and His people. It represents faith, obedience, and spirituality. In the Old Testament, purple symbolizes wealth and royalty.The most common meaning of white is that it represents righteousness or pretending to be so (Revelation 6:2). It can symbolize purity, wisdom, holiness or dedication to God (Mark 16:5, John 20:12, Acts 1:10, Revelation 4:4, 19:14). On New Year's Eve, people crowd around in New York City's Time Square or huddle around their TV screens to watch the ball drop, signaling the end of one year and the beginning of the next. It's a longstanding tradition to check out the descent of this glowing orb, but where on earth did all this come from?
The practice borrows from an early time-telling indicator that dates back to the 19th century. One of the earliest uses of a time ball began at England's Royal Greenwich Observatory in 1833. There a ball was lowered every day at 1 p.m. to signal the time to captains of ships on the Thames River so that they could check it against their chronometers (via Britannica). In 1907, the first New Year's Eve ball made its debut in Times Square. This massive wood and iron structure, designed by Jacob Starr, weighed an impressive 700 pounds and was covered with 25-watt lights (via Britannica). A special pulley system was used to lower the ball. Confetti is a big part of a celebration on New Years. Our Heavenly Father likes to see confetti, and below is a reason why it is an important part of New Years when it comes to him. It is a symbol of Our Heavenly Father’s victories spread all over.

Verse 1]
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne

For auld lang syne, my jo
For auld lang syne
We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne

[Verse 2]

And surely I’ll be mine
And we’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne

We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne
