A Prayer for Mercy in Troubled Times

Lord, don’t correct me when you are angry.
Don’t punish me when you are very angry.

Lord, be kind to me because I am weak.
Heal me, Lord, because my bones ache.

I am very upset.
Lord, how long will it be?

Lord, return and save me.
Save me because of your kindness.

Dead people don’t remember you.
Those in the grave don’t praise you.

I am tired of crying to you.
Every night my bed is wet with tears.
My bed is soaked from my crying.

My eyes are weak from so much crying.
They are weak from crying about my enemies.

Get away from me, all you who do evil.
The Lord has heard my crying.

The Lord has heard my cry for help.
The Lord will answer my prayer.

All my enemies will be ashamed and troubled.
They will turn and suddenly leave in shame.

Summary; David is asking for Our Heavenly Father’s grace. David believes he is suffering because Our Heavenly Father is correcting him (Psalm 6:1). Every night he cries so much that his pillow is wet with tears (Psalm 6:6). He wants Our Heavenly Father to save him from the problem that is before him. (Psalm 6:4).

Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a God that hears and answers prayer. Help us to look to You to supply all our needs, according to Your riches in glory. We thank you in the name of Our lord and savior.


Prayer of Salvation: Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior.Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
