Heavenly Father, You are the Lord of the Sabbath.(or the day of rest.) You created the heavens and the earth in six days, and on the seventh day you rested. You made the Sabbath holy, a day set apart to rest from my work, a day set apart to honor you.
Our physical bodies need rest. It is very important to rest. In these busy times we forget to rest, we become tired and it takes a long time to become not tired. Let us take this Saturday after the holiday because in another 3 weeks you have another holiday. Please take time to be with your lord and savior and read the bible. Let the lord help give you rest and peace. Take time during that day for him. It is hard to help someone if you are too tired. This would be a good time to take a few hours on Saturday around the table with your family reading the bible, and getting to know our lord an savior. Many blessing will start coming to you if you do this. We know you need to go to school and do your homework, but you need time to rest these days. It is also important to pray about anything you feel is not right. Give your problems to the lord so you can rest, you know he has your back. You would not believe how nice it is not to be bound by the adversary, and how much more peace and blessings you will have.
Here are a few bible verses that will go along with this lesson.
Exodus 20:8-118 “Remember to keep the Sabbath as a holy day. 9 You may work and get everything done during six days each week. 10 But the seventh day is a day of rest to honor the Lord your God. On that day no one may do any work: not you, your son or daughter, or your men or women slaves. Neither your animals nor the foreigners living in your cities may work. 11 The reason is that in six days the Lord made everything. He made the sky, earth, sea and everything in them. And on the seventh day, he rested. So the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
Genesis 2:2-3 2 By the seventh day God finished the work he had been doing. So on the seventh day he rested from all his work. 3 God blessed the seventh day and made it a holy day. He made it holy because on that day he rested. He rested from all the work he had done in creating the world.
Hebrews 3:77 So it is as the Holy Spirit says:“Today listen to what he says. 4:11 So let us try as hard as we can to enter God’s rest. We must try hard so that no one will be lost by following the example of those who refused to obey.
Matthew 11:28 Come to me, all of you who are tired and have heavy loads. I will give you rest.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we trust your Love and know that you will heal this stress. Just as the sun rises each day against the dark of night. Please bring us the peace and rest with the with the light of God. In Jesus name Amen.
Prayer of Salvation to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
